Winter arrived on Rothiemurchus in early December with temperatures plunging to a chilly minus 11°C at night! Spells of snow provided nice wintery scenes throughout the landscape, even the cattle were creating a misty environment in the cold elements. It is always a good time of year to investigate what creatures are out and about. Tracks of deer, badger and otter to name but a few are regularly seen in amongst visitor footprints on our path network, foraging in the wooded landscape for feed that will last them during the winter.
However, as this article is written the weather has flipped and we are enjoying a balmy 6°C. To take it a step further a visitor has even been spotted wearing shorts!!
All of us here at Rothiemurchus would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and are raising a glass to you for 2013!
